Animal Control's primary responsibility is the safety of all residents and animals within the Town of Seymour limits and enforcement of local and state ordinances regarding animals including:
acting as an interface with other agencies dealing with dogs, cats, birds, and other animals.
working with authorities to obtain emergency veterinary assistance for injured dogs and cats.
enforcing all Town ordinances pertaining to dogs running at large
patrolling problem areas in the Town.
bite investigations.
cruelty investigations.
noise complaints.
rabies control.
The Assessor's Office prepares the annual grand list of taxable and non-taxable property and assesses and values real estate, business, personal property and motor vehicles.

The primary goal of the Economic Development Commission is to enhance the commercial and industrial zones by providing a method of attracting business. The Naugatuck Valley Health District, as the official public health agency for its partner communities, is committed to improving the quality of life for all it serves through the promotion of health, prevention of disease, and by assuring a safe and clean environment. We provide public health functions to the towns of Ansonia, Beacon Falls, Derby, Naugatuck, Seymour and Shelton.
The Operations Department is responsible for the efficient management and operation of the affairs of the Town of Seymour in accordance with State law, Town ordinances and such directives, regulations, and policies as the Board of Selectmen may from time-to-time adopt. A regional welfare office administrates the town's General Assistance program under the auspices of the state Department of Social Services.
Residents without assets or financial resources may contact the office for food bank, clothing source and other relevant referrals. Individuals with special medical needs, such as substance abuse, will be directed to the proper facilities. The office offers assistance for unemployable individuals who are awaiting Social Security service.
Seymour residents with disabilities who cannot travel to the New Haven office, can contact the TEAM office in the Valley at (203)736-5420 for assistance.
The Tax Collector's office is responsible for maintaining all tax records and for collecting taxes due to the Town of Seymour by all means allowed by State Statute.

The Town Treasurer is an administrative appointment of the First Selectman and responsible for preserving, managing, and protecting the financial resources of the Town.
The Seymour Sewer Authority is run by a company called Veolia Water North America.
he Zoning Enforcement Office reviews and approves all documents related to development of lands within the Town. Anyone constructing, demolishing, adding, or otherwise structurally modifying any building must first obtain appropriate permits from the Zoning Office. Building inspectors will then review all construction work to make sure it complies with applicable building codes.
