Social
Services
A regional welfare
office administrates the town's General Assistance program under
the auspices of the state Department of Social Services.
Residents without assets or financial resources may contact the
office for food bank, clothing source and other relevant
referrals. Individuals with special medical needs, such as
substance abuse, will be directed to the proper facilities.
The office offers assistance for unemployable individuals who
are awaiting Social Security service.
Seymour residents with disabilities
who cannot travel to the New Haven office, can contact the TEAM
office in the Valley at 736-5420 for assistance.
