First Selectman's Office

The First Selectman serves as the town's Chief Elected Official.  The term of office is two years commencing in odd number years.  The First Selectman presides over the Board of Selectmen. 

Basic responsibilities include:

  • assessment of current and future needs or priorities of the town
  • supervising all administrative offices and employees of the town
  • constantly updating the Board of Selectmen as to the status of the town's finances
